The Young Finns have submitted a voting complaint on the cost brake initiative, which will be voted on next June 9. The complaint criticizes a "tendentious graphic" in the voting booklet, as detailed in a press release issued by the Young Finns on Sunday.
The party criticizes the fact that the percentages on the development of costs in the chart printed in the voting booklet distort the proportions and paint a pessimistic picture. The exclusively percentage-based presentation does not show the relevant development and thus clearly violates the authorities' mandate to provide neutral information.
In the complaint submitted in the cantons of Zurich, Basel and Bern, the Young Party calls on the cantonal governments to correct the voting documents. The population must be informed "properly and correctly". A request has also been submitted to the federal government to correct the "misleading information" regarding the cost brake initiative.
