Work continues in the fight against indiscretions

The report on the coronavirus leaks presented on Friday does not mark the end of Parliament's fight against indiscretions in Bern. A subcommittee of the National Council's Control Committee (CC) is continuing its work.
There are already proposals for adapting the Code of Criminal Procedure or the Administrative Organization Act, for example. Prisca Birrer-Heimo (SP/LU), a member of the aforementioned committee, told the media in Bern on Friday that the sub-committee would consult the Office of the Attorney General on this matter.
After all, indiscretions have long been an issue in federal Bern; there have also been indiscretions from committees. "So we are taking a two-pronged approach," said Birrer-Heimo, referring to the report presented on Friday by the two councils' audit committees.
The National Council's Subcommittee on Courts/Attorney General's Office will submit its own report on indiscretions. The date for this has not yet been set, said Birrer-Heimo.
