Work is increasingly stressing employees

According to the Federal Statistical Office, the proportion of people in Switzerland who are stressed at work has increased by five percent in ten years. According to the study, 23 percent of people in Switzerland feel stressed at work.

In 2022, 25 percent of working women and 21 percent of working men stated that they usually or always experience stress at work. These were the findings of the Swiss Health Survey published on Thursday by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) for the years 2012 to 2022.

Stress occurred most frequently in the healthcare and social services sectors. 29 percent of respondents in these sectors stated that they were stressed. One in four women were also employed in this sector.

In addition, according to the survey, 47 percent of men and 43 percent of women were exposed to at least three out of ten potential physical risks at work in 2022.
