An electricity technician received an electric shock while maintaining a high-voltage line in the Grisons Oberland on Tuesday. The 44-year-old died at the scene of the accident in Rueun.
It is still unclear how the fatal electric shock occurred. According to a statement from the cantonal police on Wednesday, the man's work colleagues only noticed the accident when the electricity technician was hanging motionless in the safety cable.
They abseiled him down from the high mast using the rescue line and administered first aid. The resuscitation was continued by the Surselva Rescue Service and a Rega crew, but was unsuccessful. The police are investigating the incident.
