Zurich Airport carries more passengers in October

Once again, more passengers traveled through Zurich Airport in October than a year ago. The pre-crisis level of 2019 was exceeded once again.
A total of 2.97 million people traveled through Switzerland's largest airport in the month under review, the airport announced on Tuesday evening. This was 3.6% more than in October a year ago. The passenger volume corresponded to 103.5% of the October 2019 level.
More transit passengers
The increase in travelers was attributable to both passenger categories. While the number of local passengers increased by 2.5%, the number of passengers at Zurich Airport rose by 6.5%.
Commercial sales amounted to CHF 55.4 million in September. This corresponds to a decrease of 0.3 percent.
