The District Court of Hinwil ZH has sentenced a 40-year-old man for threats, verbal abuse and discrimination. The prison sentence of 13 months is suspended in favor of inpatient treatment.
The court thus followed the opinion of the public prosecutor's office and the psychiatric expert, as can be seen from the ruling sent out on Monday.
With a prison sentence of 13 months, the judges went slightly beyond the required sentence of 12 months. This was despite the fact that they acquitted the accused of making a threat. They also sentenced the Swiss national to a fine of 140 x 30 francs. He is to pay this. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
The defendant is accused of verbally abusing, threatening and racially insulting two dark-skinned youths on a sports field. He claimed in court that the youths had threatened him.
