Switzerland witnesses a 12.2% spike in company bankruptcies this February, with Creditreform predicting more turbulence ahead.
In Switzerland, significantly more companies filed for bankruptcy in February. The creditors’ association Creditreform expects a further increase.
A total of 715 companies went bankrupt in February. This is an increase of 12.2 percent compared to the same period last year, as Creditreform announced on Thursday. Since the beginning of the year, insolvencies have increased by 6.4 percent.
At the same time, more new companies were founded in February. The number of new companies in the commercial register amounted to 4589, an increase of 3.6% compared to the same month last year.
