Swiss cyberspace faces significant security challenges, as a recent study exposes. Over 2.5 million vulnerabilities in the internet highlight the pressing need for robust cybersecurity measures. Presented at the Swiss Cyber Security Days. This alarming finding stems from an extensive analysis of the nation’s IT infrastructure by Dreamlab Technologies.

This comes on the back of a recent wave of cybercrimes and related internet fraud incidents affecting Swiss companies.

Utilizing the CyObs software solution, researchers meticulously scanned the “external attack surface,” cataloging all internet-connected IT infrastructures. This means servers, firewalls, and more, totaling over 3.2 million IPv4 addresses and 1.8 million active domains attributed to Switzerland. The experts’ thorough examination pinpointed numerous potential attack points, primarily due to outdated software, underscoring a widespread cybersecurity risk.

Particularly concerning is the state of the Swiss Federal Administration’s infrastructure, where vulnerabilities were predominantly linked to antiquated software versions.
