The airline Swiss is suspending its flights to and from Beirut until 28 October. The reason is the tension on the border between Israel and Lebanon. Four Swiss flights between Zurich and the Lebanese capital on 17, 19, 24 and 26 October are affected.
The safety of passengers and crews has top priority for Swiss at all times, it said in a statement on Monday. The situation in the Middle East is being closely monitored. After carefully examining the situation in Lebanon, it had decided to suspend flights to and from Beirut, as an expansion of the conflict could not be ruled out at present.
Swiss is informing the passengers affected by the cancellations and will refund the ticket costs in full, it added.
