The Travel Car Catches Fire on A1 in the Canton of Vaud

On Tuesday afternoon, a tour bus caught fire on the A1 motorway in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. Fortunately, all passengers were able to evacuate the vehicle in time and there were no injuries. The motorway was closed in both directions as a result. The fire started shortly after the Arrissoules tunnel, according to a spokesperson from the Vaud cantonal police. The motorway was closed between Yverdon-les-Bains VD and Estavayer-le-Lac FR from around 4pm. The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Images from a reader reporter at blick.ch show the passengers fleeing the burning bus. According to the police spokesperson, the fire was contained by the fire brigade and there were no injuries.
