Moutier Supports the Intercantonal Concordat for Canton Change

The City Government of Moutier BE is satisfied with the concordat draft of the cantons of Bern and Jura which regulates the modalities of its transfer to the canton of Jura. On Friday, Valentin Zuber (PSA), Municipal Council and President of the city's Jura delegation, said that they had no fundamental changes. The city administration is satisfied with the agreement and considers it balanced. He is calm, added Zuber, and the executive of Moutier believes that this agreement allows them to move forward in the interest of the population. The city has only made minor suggestions for changes. The concordat, drafted by the Bern and Jura governments, is intended to ensure continuity in the areas of administration, taxation, education, justice and hospital services in Moutier in view of its transfer to the canton of Jura on 1 January 2026.
