Retour au fil d'actualité

In the canton of Aargau, seven women and three men are running for the two seats in the small chamber. Nine new candidates have applied on time, including incumbent Thierry Burkhart (FDP) and Benjamin Giezendanner (SVP) for the seat vacated by Hansjörg Knecht (SVP). The Social Democrats, who lost their seat after Pascale Bruderer's departure in 2019, are sending Gabriela Suter (SP). Irène Kälin (Green) is also running from the left. From the political centre, National Councillors Marianne Binder (Centre) and Lilian Studer (EVP) are registered, as well as former Councillor Barbara Portmann (GLP). Nancy Holten from Gipf-Oberfrick is running as an independent, Pius Lischer from Oberrüti for the IG Health and Theres Schöni from Merenschwand for the Solution-Oriented People's Movement (LOVB). Compared to the last Council of States elections in 2019, the number of candidates in Aargau has remained the same. However, the gender ratio has reversed: four years ago, seven men and three women were registered, now it is seven women and only three men.nnnnnnnnnn
