Retour au fil d'actualité

Balthasar Glättli, president of the Green Party, opened the party's election campaign in Bern with the words: "If everything stays the same, soon nothing will be the same". He said that the Greens were the only ones with the courage to express this uncomfortable truth. He was not a professional pessimist or panic-maker, but three facts had made him afraid this year: the hottest July since records began, the ice retreat in the Antarctic and the high surface temperature of the North Atlantic. The Greens wanted to open a new chapter in 2023, with a green economy instead of fossil capitalism, living in harmony instead of exploitation of people and nature, and justice instead of the law of the strongest. Glättli said that it takes courage, strength, will and conviction to name this change. He criticised the right-wing parties for making their election campaigns about trivial matters such as gender symbols and the exclusion of people, instead of focusing on real problems. He said that the solutions for the future are there, and the Greens are fighting more than ever to make sure that this future is livable. He concluded by saying that the Greens are not in love with failure, but with success, and that they will not manage the catastrophe, but shape the change.nnnnnnnnnn
