Switzerland’s MeteoOffice Warns of Great Danger Due to Prolonged Rainfall

Meteoschweiz has issued a warning of prolonged rain on Saturday, raising the danger level to 4, which indicates a great danger. This danger is expected to last until Tuesday midday and affects the Rheinwald area, Surselva, the central and eastern Alpine north slopes, Central Switzerland, the eastern Bernese Oberland and the eastern Mittelland, where the danger level is 3, indicating a significant danger. Meteoschweiz expects rainfall amounts of 80 to 160 liters per square meter in the south, east and central Switzerland, as well as in the eastern Alps and the eastern Bernese Oberland. In the central and northern Ticino, as well as in the Misox, even up to 240 liters per square meter are expected.
