Heavy rains in the Swiss canton of Ticino have caused water contamination in parts of the canton's capital, Bellinzona. Alertswiss warned on Monday morning of microbiological contamination in Moleno and Preonzo, advising that tap water in the affected areas should not be used for drinking, cooking or washing until further notice. The Ticino region has been hit by storms since Friday evening, with a severe hailstorm in the early hours of Saturday morning. According to SRF Meteo, Biasca received 300.5 millimeters of rain per square meter in the 48 hours following the storm. As a result, the water supply in Brissago, Bodio and Maggia, as well as Moleno and Preonzo, has been contaminated.nnnnnnnnnnnn
