Retour au fil d'actualité

The Swiss Water and Sanitation Consortium (SWSC) has been granted twelve million Swiss francs by the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (EDA) for the years 2023 to 2027 to provide access to basic sanitation in thirteen African and Asian countries. This project will provide more than 750,000 people with access to clean drinking water. The demand for water is expected to increase by more than 50% by 2030, which could lead to increased conflict over this vital resource. Climate change is also exacerbating geopolitical tensions related to water access and water policy. Clean drinking water and knowledge of basic hygiene practices can reduce child mortality. The countries that will benefit from the EDA funding are Ethiopia, Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Madagascar, Mali, Mozambique, Niger and Sudan in Africa, and Bangladesh, India, Cambodia and Nepal in Asia.nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
