The Swiss Post has announced plans to no longer require newspapers to be delivered by 12.30pm. Post-CEO Roberto Cirillo said that many people are no longer at home during the day, so it makes no difference when the letters and newspapers are delivered. He also said that the postal services must keep up with the times and that the government must provide a framework that allows the Post to make decisions based on the needs of customers. In addition, the Post has announced plans to save 40 million francs, which will result in job losses. However, the exact number of jobs to be cut has not yet been determined. The Post also plans to reduce costs for systems, which will be implemented by 2024 and take effect by 2025. In the first half of 2023, the Post's profits halved compared to the previous year, amounting to 118 million francs - 141 million francs less than the previous year.
