“Mountain Climber Dies in Accident in Alvier Area”

A 27-year-old man has died in an accident in the Alvier area of the canton of St. Gallen. According to a statement, he had planned a night flight with a paraglider. The circumstances of the accident remain unclear. On Thursday, the man had walked from the Berggasthaus Palfries towards Gauschla, a peak of the Alvier group, the cantonal police of St. Gallen announced on Friday. There, he had wanted to make a night flight back to the Berggasthaus Palfries with his paraglider. After the man did not arrive at the meeting point agreed with an acquaintance, he reported him as missing. The rescue forces, which were alerted at 11 pm, finally found the man a hundred meters below a hiking trail. According to the statement, he died for still unexplained reasons.
