The outgoing Health Minister Alain Berset has predicted a complicated task for his successor. He advised her to tackle the problems head-on, even if it means taking on everyone. Berset said in an interview that this is the only way to make progress. Federal Councillor Alain Berset expressed his conviction that a member of another party would not be able to manage the Department of the Interior better. "You can put anyone in the seat, it will remain very complicated," said the head of the Swiss Federal Department of the Interior in an interview published Sunday in "Le Matin Dimanche". Federal Councillor Alain Berset said that the problems in the healthcare system lie in the multitude of stakeholders. If he had complete freedom, he would require all healthcare stakeholders to attend an annual meeting, he said in an interview with the "NZZ am Sonntag" that was published on the same day. Federal Councillor Alain Berset emphasized the importance of transparency in both conversations. He told the "NZZ am Sonntag" that he would set up a system to show who is doing what and at what price.
