The plans for the construction of a cable car from Stettbach station to Zurich Zoo have taken a step forward. The Canton of Zurich's Administrative Court has rejected complaints against the necessary design plan. The Administrative Court confirmed the decision of the lower court in the essential points, as the court announced on Thursday. The city of Dübendorf, on whose territory the cable car would partly lie, and various residents had lodged complaints against the "Cable Car Stettbach - Zoo Zurich" design plan. Dübendorf is mainly concerned that the planned cable car will lead to additional car traffic. The approximately 2.2 kilometer long cable car to Zurich Zoo should be able to transport up to 1600 people per hour. The decision of the Zurich Administrative Court is not yet final. It can be appealed to the Federal Court.
