The UBS bank has announced the merging of the boards of directors of its two Swiss companies, UBS and Credit Suisse. The move is part of the full integration of Credit Suisse's Swiss business into UBS. Roger von Mentlen has been appointed as the president of the newly merged board. The merger is intended to allow for a closely coordinated oversight of the integration of the two banks until the legal merger, which is expected in 2024. Von Mentlen has been with UBS for 40 years and has been the head of Personal Banking in Switzerland for the past ten years. He replaces Markus Ronner, who has been president of the UBS Switzerland board since April 2022, and Peter Derendinger, who has been president of the Credit Suisse (Switzerland) board since March 2019. The two boards will mainly consist of existing board members from UBS Switzerland and CS Switzerland, with Derendinger taking on the role of Vice President Credit Suisse (Switzerland) and Gabi Huber taking on the role of Vice President UBS Switzerland. The other members are Christoph Brunner, Daniel Crittin, Claudia Dill, Barbara Lambert and Damian Vogel.
