Thomas Rechsteiner of Die Mitte was re-elected as National Councilor of Appenzell Innerrhoden without any opposing candidates. At the Landsgemeinde in April, Daniel Fässler of Die Mitte was also re-elected to the Council of States. Both Rechsteiner and Fässler are members of the Die Mitte party.
