The GLP (Green Liberal Party) suffered a "bitter" result in the Swiss elections, losing 0.6% of the vote and six seats in the National Council. GLP President Jürg Grossen said that the party had not done everything well and that they must now analyse the causes of the losses. Despite the losses, the GLP has established itself as a national party with 7.2% of the vote, just below their previous highest score. Grossen said that the party would not put their heads in the sand and that the losses would also awaken their fighting spirit. He also said that he would make an assessment of his personal future in the party in the coming months. Grossen does not claim a seat in the Federal Council elections in December, saying that the "magic formula" of the other parties is a clinging to the old system and the past.
