The former CS-CFA indicator, which was published in September for the first time under the UBS banner since the merger of the two big banks, fell to -37.8 points in October from -27.6 points previously. The indicator thus remains below zero for the 20th month in a row, according to a statement on Wednesday.

Not only are the experts cautious about Swiss economic growth, they are also only moderate in their assessment of the outlook for the eurozone and the United States. The experts surveyed have not significantly adjusted their inflation expectations after the Swiss National Bank (SNB) surprisingly left its key interest rate unchanged in September this year.

Meanwhile, the majority of financial analysts expect central banks in Switzerland, the eurozone and the US to leave their key rates unchanged over the next six months.

According to UBS, 37 analysts took part in the survey, which was conducted between October 12 and 19.
