Rail traffic in Renens VD completely interrupted

Rail traffic at Renens VD station was completely disrupted on Thursday morning due to a technical breakdown. The train routes from Lausanne to Geneva and in the direction of Yverdon-les-Bains VD were affected, as reported by SBB.
The route between Yverdon-les-Bains and Morges VD was not affected, according to the press release issued on Thursday morning.
In addition to S-Bahn trains, Inter-City trains IC5 and IC1 as well as the Interregio IR90 were also affected, according to the SBB website. The restrictions are expected to last until 01:00 on Friday. Further information will follow, SBB announced.
A rail replacement was set up. SBB recommended avoiding travel on the affected axis. Travel times were extended by up to two hours in some cases.
