Hiltpold becomes new President of SRG Western Switzerland

Former Geneva FDP National Councillor Hugues Hiltpold has been appointed as the new President of the Swiss Radio and Television Corporation of French-speaking Switzerland (RTSR). He succeeds former Bernese government councillor Mario Annoni, who will step down after four years in office at the end of 2023.
In his new role, Hiltpold will also become a member of the SRG Board of Directors, as announced by the RTSR on Thursday. The 54-year-old architect has been a member of the SRG Regional Committee for Western Switzerland since 2020.
According to Hiltpold, it is important to defend the SRG today. It is a guarantor of national cohesion, both through the quality of its diverse information and its roots close to the people, the highlighting of talent from the various regions and the defense of local audiovisual and digital know-how, Hiltpold is quoted as saying in the press release.
