The heavy snowfall has thrown the Räthische Bahn (RhB) out of step: several of the railroad lines in the canton of Graubünden were interrupted on Saturday morning or could only be used to a limited extent. According to RhB, replacement transportation was only possible to a very limited extent.
The Arosa line from Chur to Arosa was interrupted, as the RhB announced on Saturday morning. The line was without power and replacement transportation was not possible. The duration of the interruption is undetermined.
The section between Bergün and Samedan on the Albula line was interrupted. The reason given by RhB was that a tree had fallen on the overhead line. Trains ran from Chur to Filisur (and vice versa). The duration of the disruption is also undetermined.
A tree also fell on the overhead line in the Lower Engadine between S-chanf and Zernez. Replacement transportation is currently not possible because the road is also closed.
There were further restrictions and interruptions in the Upper Engadine. According to RhB, the only trains running there were between St. Moritz and Samedan. The line from Davos to Filisur was also interrupted. Replacement transportation was not possible.
