Zermatt Unplugged has announced its first acts for the 2024 edition. The Valais acoustic festival will kick off with the British act Birdy; Angus & Julia Stone, James Arthur and Gregory Porter will also be performing on the tent stage.

The British musician Birdy had long been on the wish list of those responsible for Zermatt Unplugged, according to the press release on Thursday announcing the first performances for the 15th edition of the festival.

Birdy will present her latest album "Portraits" (2023) in an acoustic concert on the tent stage. It will be interesting to see how it will sound. Because on the powerfully produced album, she surprises with striking synth sounds. Birdy's new style is also promised by those responsible for Zermatt Unplugged, although classics such as "People Help the People" will not be left out.

The Australian sibling duo Angus & Julia Stone first visited Zermatt eight years ago and drew inspiration for their hit song and album of the same name, "Snow". Next spring, the two will present their sixth studio album "Cape Forestier" on the Matterhorn. The audience in Zermatt will be the first to hear the new songs live, they promise.

James Arthur ("Say you won't let go") was already in Zermatt in 2014 and is now returning as an internationally acclaimed musician. Michael Patrick Kelly and - more soulful and jazzy - Gregory Porter are also expected.

The line-up also includes Ben Howard, Patrick Watson, Jack Savoretti, Mahalia, JP Cooper, Ásgeir and Kate Nash. The organizers plan to announce further acts in February. The 15th edition of Zermatt Unplugged will take place from April 9 to 13.
