Following the violent death of a 76-year-old man in Broc, Fribourg, the French police have stopped the suspected perpetrator in Paris. The motive for the bloody deed is still unclear and the investigation is ongoing.

The police found the 76-year-old dead in his apartment on November 20 after relatives had been worried about the man because they had not heard from him.

The body was stabbed. According to initial investigations, the suspect was a 27-year-old Frenchman, an acquaintance of the victim. He had left Switzerland, presumably with his home country as his destination, as the Fribourg cantonal police wrote in a statement on Thursday.

Following an international request for mutual legal assistance, the French judiciary launched an investigation. On Tuesday, they were able to stop the wanted suspect.
