Retour au fil d'actualité

The ongoing integration of Credit Suisse into UBS has not yet had an impact on the number of vacancies posted on the Credit Suisse website. In November, 147 positions were advertised at CS, roughly the same number as in previous months.

In contrast, the number of jobs advertised at UBS has risen by 15 percent since October. The big bank advertised a total of 185 jobs in November. This is according to an analysis by the job portal Indeed, which counts and analyzes the jobs advertised on the websites of the ten largest Swiss banks on a monthly basis for the news agency AWP. Only jobs with a place of work in Switzerland are taken into account.

The number of jobs advertised at UBS has thus risen steadily since the summer - despite the broad-based job cuts announced as part of the merger with CS. At the end of November, almost 70 percent more jobs were advertised on the UBS website than in August.

Selective recruitment of skilled workers

UBS and CS are looking for employees for a wide variety of positions. IT specialists of all kinds are particularly sought after.

According to the Indeed analysis, it is striking that relatively few management positions are advertised at Credit Suisse, while UBS offers a large number of such positions. Most advertisements on the CS website also explicitly state that the bank is now a subsidiary of UBS and will continue its business activities as such. And that "experienced specialists" will continue to be recruited as required.

Job vacancies stagnating overall

However, UBS is not the only bank where the number of vacancies increased in November. This was also the case at the Raiffeisen Group and Bank Vontobel. With 198 advertised positions, the Raiffeisen banks have a particularly high number of vacancies. UBS, CS and Raiffeisen are followed by Zürcher Kantonalbank with 96 advertised jobs and Julius Baer with 69.

Overall, the number of vacancies at the largest Swiss banks stagnated in November at the same level as in October. In August and September, there were even fewer job advertisements.
