Riots broke out in Lausanne after the Super League match between Lausanne-Sport and Servette. One police officer was slightly injured, according to the Vaud cantonal police.
Lausanne and Geneva fans clashed in the stadium before and after the match, according to the Vaud cantonal police on Sunday night. Lausanne Ultras also attacked the private security staff and police around the stadium, throwing bottles and pyrotechnics.
The police also had to intervene with Geneva fans on their way to the station, it was reported. They used rubber bullets and tear gas. Numerous items of furniture in the city and the stadium infrastructure were damaged. The security forces deployed 130 people.
Even during the match - which ended in a 1:1 draw - the fans' mood in the Léman derby was boiling. The fan camps drew attention to themselves with the use of fireworks. They provoked a delayed kick-off and later several interruptions to the game. It was only when the stadium announcer informed the home fans that the match was in danger of being abandoned that the situation calmed down somewhat.
