Retour au fil d'actualité

Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis told the media in Bern on Friday that the foundations were solid enough to iron out some controversial elements. With regard to wage protection in the law on the posting of workers, a non-regression clause gives Switzerland the option of not having to accept deteriorations.

This element is new compared to the negotiations on the institutional framework agreement. The Federal Council wants to find a solution with the trade unions regarding wage protection, said Cassis. Open wage protection issues could be looked at a second time.

In response to a journalist's question about the price of the package approach, Cassis said that he did not want to "throw figures in the air". This ammunition should be held back for the right moment. "There is still a lot to settle."
