The Engadin road has been closed for several weeks due to a rockfall on Saturday morning. According to the police, heavy rainfall caused several thousand cubic meters of rock to fall, of which between 50 and 100 cubic meters buried the Engadin road between Val Spelunca and Vestmezza. No one was injured.

The Engadine road between Martina and the national border is expected to remain closed for several weeks due to safety and clearing work as well as the repair of the road and retaining walls, according to a statement from the Graubünden cantonal police on Saturday evening.

A detour via Nauders and Pfunds is therefore signalized. The detour leads via Martinsbruckerstrasse to Nauders and then via Reschenstrasse to Pfunds.
