Swiss franc remains strong before the end of the year

The Swiss franc continues to show strength ahead of the end of the year and is hovering around its highs against the dollar and the euro. At 0.9293, the euro is still trading at less than 93 centimes, having been above this level the previous evening. The US dollar is trading at 0.8412, around half a centime higher than in early trading.
The euro fell slightly against the dollar in US trading on Friday. The single currency last traded at 1.1045 US dollars. On Thursday, the euro had temporarily risen to 1.1139 dollars, its highest level since July. As comparatively few investors are actively trading shortly before the end of the year, trading volumes are low and there may be stronger price movements.
