At the SVP's Albisgüetli conference in Zurich on Friday, former Federal Councillor Christoph Blocher expressed his support in principle for a 13th AHV pension. Nevertheless, it should be rejected. "Because who is going to pay for it?" he said in front of around 1,000 SVP members.

"Of course it would be nice to get a 13th AHV pension," said Blocher in his speech. "As an AHV pensioner, I would also like a fourteenth and a fifteenth." Nevertheless, the SVP must say no to this proposal. Who wants more payroll deductions or higher taxes? "That would mean less money for everyone to live on."

Pierre-Yves Maillard, SP member of the Vaud cantonal parliament and President of the Swiss Federation of Trade Unions, will give the counter-speech.

Numerous SVP politicians attended the 36th Albisgüetli Conference, including Federal Councillor Albert Rösti, parliamentary group leader Thomas Aeschi, Blocher's daughter, National Councillor Magdalena Martullo-Blocher and National Councillor Marcel Dettling, who is running for the presidency of the Swiss SVP.
