The delegates of two national parties are gathering in Central Switzerland on Saturday (today): the SVP base is meeting in Bürglen UR, while the Green Party delegates are traveling to Lucerne. The slogans for the federal vote on March 3 will be adopted at both events. Europe will also be discussed.

There are two referendums on the AHV in the ballot. The trade unions' "For a better life in old age" initiative wants pensioners to be paid a 13th AHV pension in future. The initiative "For a secure and sustainable old-age pension" by the Young Liberals demands an increase in the retirement age and linking it to life expectancy.

Europe will also be a topic in both Bürglen and Lucerne. The SVP sees the negotiations between Switzerland and the EU as a threat to the country's independence. Meanwhile, the Greens have put the Europe initiative on the agenda, with which pro-European organizations want to support the process of European integration.

According to the published program, no federal councillors will be appearing at the SVP. In addition to party president Marco Chiesa, Graubünden National Councillor Magdalena Martullo-Blocher has also been announced. Federal finances will also be a topic at the SVP delegates' meeting. The Greens, for their part, intend to adopt a resolution on media diversity.
