At the solidarity rally for Ukraine, SP National Councillor Jon Pult called on Switzerland to do more for Ukraine. Green National Councillor Balthasar Glättli called for Switzerland to finally freeze state or state-related Russian money so that it can be used for reparations payments.

"We stand together with Ukraine," said Glättli in front of several thousand people on the Bundesplatz. A sea of Ukrainian flags waved in his direction. Switzerland must finally freeze Russian oligarchs' money, Glättli said and demanded: "Russia should pay".

Switzerland has an unpleasant and long history of "dirty money", said Blättli. It was high time to add good, strong and humanitarian chapters.

Glättli's SP National Councillor colleague Jon Pult praised Ukraine for not only defending itself, but also standing up for freedom and democracy in Europe. It was a duty to do much more for Ukraine, for example in humanitarian terms or financially, in order to promote reconstruction.

According to Pult, Switzerland must also finally relax the re-export of weapons. The greatest danger in Europe is that the democratic forces do not stand together and "that we allow ourselves to be distracted by all the Orbans and Trumps".
