Two drivers have been flashed by a radar device on the A9 between Chexbres VD and Vevey VD at speeds of 220 km/h and more. The Vaud public prosecutor's office opened a criminal investigation against the 18 and 21-year-old Swiss nationals, who live in the region.

The two young men were questioned in the presence of a public defender and admitted to the crime, as the Vaud cantonal police announced on Monday. The police had installed a semi-stationary radar device between the Chexbres and Vevey junctions from February 14 to 21.

The radar device recorded the two speeders driving behind each other on the night of February 15 at speeds of 220 and 229 km/h respectively.
