Retour au fil d'actualité
In the last legislative period, the Federal Council completed three quarters of the business announced. Nevertheless, in its annual report published on Thursday, it takes stock of the last four years in a positive light.
Switzerland remains dependent on the development of the international situation, and delays have occurred in some areas due to the strain caused by several global crises, the national government wrote in the 2023 Annual Report.
According to the report, the national government has dealt with 650 transactions in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic since the end of February 2020. Since February 2022, the Federal Council has also dealt with 208 transactions relating to Russia's war against Ukraine and 43 in connection with energy supply risks. It has also approved 27 transactions in connection with the takeover of Credit Suisse by UBS since March 2023.
Delays in the European dossier
In the 2019 to 2023 legislative period, the Federal Council adopted 58 of the so-called directive acts, which according to the annual report are both politically and strategically important Federal Council acts. 77 were planned.
Those that have not been implemented include measures to ensure the sustainable supply of therapeutic products, a national strategy to reconcile family and career in cooperation with the cantons, and a message on the introduction of the digital patient card.
There are also significant deviations from the plan in the European dossier, as can be seen from the annual report. In particular, since the Federal Council decided to break off negotiations on a draft institutional agreement with the EU.
