Salon du Livre in Geneva attracts over 63,000 visitors

The Geneva Book Fair, the Salon du Livre, attracted over 63,000 visitors. More than 600 francophone authors from Switzerland, France, Québec in Canada, Belgium and several African countries attended the event, which closed its doors on Sunday after five days.
According to the organizers, the almost 300 exhibitors present at the Palexpo site drew a "very positive balance" of the event, as stated in a press release.
The 2024 edition put the spotlight on a trio of stars from French-speaking Switzerland: comic author Léonie Bischoff, author of the bestseller "The Truth about the Harry Quebert Case" Joël Dicker and Elisa Shua Dusapin, whose novel "A Winter in Sokcho" will soon be released in cinemas.
The programme included book signings and exchanges between writers and their audiences, as well as crime fiction meetings organized in collaboration with the Quais du Polar festival in Lyon and debates on topics such as geopolitics, artificial intelligence, women's issues and migration.
