Around 500 mourners gathered in a circus tent in Märstetten TG on Monday afternoon to bid farewell to the late high-wire artist Freddy Nock.

In addition to members of the family, the guests included numerous artists and representatives from various circuses as well as celebrities such as musician Pepe Lienhard and former boxer Stefan Angehrn.

"Freddy has now ascended to God on his high wire," said pastor Adrian Bolzern. The stage was decorated with flowers and candles as well as pictures of the deceased.

Adrian Bolzern, chaplain to the circus people, showmen and market traders of Switzerland, organized the public memorial service to celebrate the life of Freddy Nock with the participation of his father Alfred Nock. The event featured speeches, a film and music by Elvis Presley.

Freddy Nock was found dead in his apartment in Uerkheim AG on February 7 at the age of 59.
