Swiss plane turns back because of a renited passenger

A captain of the airline Swiss aborted a flight to Zurich on Sunday because of an abusive passenger. According to Swiss, there was an incident on board with crew members. The plane turned back to Newark in the US state of New Jersey.

The passenger became abusive towards crew members shortly after the Airbus plane took off, a Swiss spokeswoman told the Keystone-SDA news agency on Monday. The plane then turned back because of the unruly man on board. The incident was first reported online by "Blick".

One crew member was injured in the incident, the Swiss spokeswoman added. He was taken to hospital for investigations.

During the flight, a loud scream was suddenly heard, writes a passenger on the social network Reddit. After the scream, the cabin crew immediately ran to the front of the plane.

The man was reportedly taken away by the police in Newark. The company spokeswoman did not give the reason for the outburst. The flight was subsequently canceled.

There were 236 passengers and 13 crew members on board the aircraft of flight LX19. The passengers affected were to be taken to Zurich on the next possible flight.
