A 24-year-old man has to answer to the Lucerne Criminal Court on Thursday for multiple speeding offenses. When questioned by the judges, he denied having been at the wheel on two of the six occasions.

Two recordings were submitted as evidence during the trial, which were published on the video portal Tiktok. One shows a speeding violation of 73 kilometers per hour (km/h) in Buchrain in May 2020, the other shows a violation of 74 km/h on the A2 freeway near Buchrain in February 2021.

During questioning, the accused stated that he had been "young and stupid". He regretted his actions and emphasized that he had become much more mature since that time.

In the indictment, the public prosecutor demanded a prison sentence of 3.5 years and a fine of CHF 1,300. The accused had caused a serious danger to the safety of others by grossly violating the traffic regulations. The presumption of innocence applies.
