In view of the developments in the Middle East, the airline Swiss is suspending its flights to and from Beirut up to and including next Thursday. Specifically, this affects the flight that was scheduled for Tuesday, the Lufthansa subsidiary announced on Sunday.

Swiss aircraft will continue to avoid Iranian airspace until Thursday. According to the press release, this means that the flight time on routes between Zurich and the destinations Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Delhi and Mumbai will be extended by up to 90 minutes.

According to Swiss, flight operations to and from Tel Aviv in Israel will also be suspended at least until Monday. Swiss intends to contact the affected passengers.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards had launched an attack on Israel with missiles and drones on Saturday. Israel, Jordan and Iraq reopened their airspace on Sunday.

Swiss is monitoring the situation in the Middle East and is in contact with the relevant authorities in Switzerland and on the ground, it said. A decision on the resumption of the currently suspended flights will be made on this basis. The safety of passengers and crews is always the top priority.
