According to the organizers, ticket sales for the Berlin Theatertreffen started as planned on Friday. "Advance ticket sales started punctually at 2 pm today and went smoothly," a spokeswoman for the Berliner Festspiele announced on Friday. Many events at the summit meeting of the German-speaking stages are already sold out. "It's still worth taking a look at the web store, as tickets are regularly released," the spokesperson continued.
A jury has selected ten remarkable productions from Germany, Austria and Switzerland for the Theatertreffen between May 2 and 20, including two from the Berliner Schaubühne. Tickets for the productions cost between 7 and 56 euros. The festival will open with Lessing's classic "Nathan the Wise" in a production by the Salzburg Festival directed by Ulrich Rasche.
