The Swiss Artists' Fair came to an end in Thun on Saturday after four days. During this time, around 60 artists and formations performed in front of a professional audience and numerous visitors, according to the organizers.

The exchange thus offered an overview of the Swiss cabaret scene. It was opened by cabaret artist Dominic Deville, actress and author Rébecca Balestra and the yodeling choir Echo vom Eierstock.

In her opening address, Federal Councillor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider referred to the broad spectrum of the performing arts and the need for artists to be fairly remunerated.

After the opening gala, around 60 selected national and international artists and formations gave an insight into their latest productions in twenty-minute short performances at the Thun Culture and Congress Center and Gymnasium. They demonstrated the diversity of independent stage production, as director Judith Rohrbach was quoted in the communiqué.

Performing arts genres ranging from theater and dance, comedy and spoken word, cabaret and music to contemporary circus and performance are presented.

The Artists' Exchange is organized by the professional association "t. Theaterschaffen Schweiz". The next edition will take place from April 9 to 12, 2025.
