Ski tourer killed in a fall in Valais

A ski tourer has died in an accident on the Dents Du Midi mountain range in Valais, northwest of Martigny. According to a third party, the man fell in a couloir on Friday afternoon.
Rescue workers finally discovered the body at the end of the gully at an altitude of 2,350 meters, as reported by the Valais cantonal police on Saturday. The accident occurred in the Couloir des Doigts in the municipality of Val d'Illiez.
The third party was out and about in the region and saw the man fall at around 12.30 p.m., it was reported. She alerted the emergency services.
A doctor was only able to determine that the victim had died. The formal identification of the victim was still underway on Saturday, according to the police. The public prosecutor's office launched an investigation.
