Football's world governing body, FIFA, will vote in Bangkok on Friday on whether Zurich should remain the headquarters in its statutes. The city of Zurich is aware of the upcoming vote, but has no knowledge of a possible move away.

FIFA has had its headquarters in the city of Zurich for over 90 years. The city is not yet aware of any concrete plans to change this, according to an inquiry. As Fifa is a private institution, the city does not wish to comment further.

So far, the statutes clearly state that FIFA has its headquarters in Zurich. It is registered as an association in the cantonal commercial register. The proposed amendment to the Articles of Association would pave the way for a possible move away.

There have been several rumors of a move in the past, most recently last autumn when it became public that Fifa wanted to outsource jobs to other cities. The world football association was founded in Paris in 1904. It moved to Zurich in 1932.
