In a major cross-border operation, 19 members of a Turkish criminal organization, including the leader, were arrested in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and Turkey.
In a cross-border raid against a Turkish criminal organization, 19 suspects were arrested in Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Turkey on Wednesday. According to media reports, the boss of the organization, Baris Boyun, is among them.
The Federal Office of Police (Fedpol) confirmed to the Keystone-SDA news agency that it was involved in the operation. According to Italian news agencies, the detainees are accused of being members of a criminal organization that pursues terrorist aims, among other things.
They are also accused of illegal possession of weapons and explosives, international drug trafficking, murder and promoting illegal immigration.
