SBB calls another 33 Flirt trains from Stadler

Train manufacturer Stadler Rail is supplying 33 "Flirt Evo" multiple-unit trains to SBB. The trains will run between Switzerland and France from the end of 2030.
SBB has signed a corresponding contract option, Stadler Rail announced on Friday. The order is part of the framework agreement signed in 2022 for the development and delivery of a maximum of 510 single-decker Flirt trains.
The new "Flirt Evo" would be produced in Bussnang TG. The company did not specify the value of the order. In an initial call-off, Stadler was commissioned to supply 286 trains with an order volume of around 2 billion Swiss francs.
